Job description
Our company is a silicon valley based startup focusing on non-invasive diagnostics to facilitate personalized cancer treatment. We are developing systems that will provide the most sensitive, accurate and robust NGS-based ctDNA mutation detection. It will deliver unparalleled accuracy from a minimal amount of patient blood samples. We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our Product Development team to drive successful transfer of projects from R&D phase into manufacturing and commercialization phase. This position will report to Head of R&D.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the product development process from feasibility phase to final product launch;
- Plan, design and execute assay research and development experiments;
- Analyze data, evaluate results, form conclusions, and provide and/or implement improvements;
- Communicate results with colleagues and R&D management;
- Lead the development and implementation of quality control procedures for critical reagents, instruments and processes;
- Ensure product performance by utilizing proven development practices and/or developing novel procedures to overcome obstacles;
- Optimize and document SOPs to achieve commercial levels of stability, robustness and performance;
- Supervise the activities of R&D team members; Work closely with other teams in a collaborative environment;
- Adjust work schedule to meet time-sensitive project milestones;
- Keep a high-quality laboratory notebook.
Job requirements
- PhD degree in molecular engineering field with 2+ years of product development experience;
- Experience with liquid biopsy or NGS assay development preferred;
- Experience with enzyme optimization/purification preferred;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Attention to details; Well organized and efficient;
- Excellent communication skills and time management skills are must;
- In-depth knowledge of product development, validation and verification and manufacture processes;
- Demonstrated record of product launch and transfer to operations;
- Proficient technical writing skills and excellent documentation skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and/or across different function groups;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment;
